BMP(Body Mind Programming) The Model To Achieve Success And Excellence

In 1990’s  we Prof.K.N.Krishnaswamy and Raj Kumar Dham started to look for the model of self – transformation, to achieve excellence and success. To design the model, we studied biographies and autobiographies of several great achievers and extracted many principles from such a study. These are summarized below :-
  •       Without exception, each one of them had an ideal or goal, which was very clear and specific and generally a lofty one.
  •         Each one of them had a burning desire to achieve the goal and unflinchingly pursued it.
  •         They frequently talked to themselves in an absentminded manner.
  •         They often lapsed into reveries in a prayerful  attitude, though they were generally very hard workers.
  •        They  seemed to get spontaneous messages and communications, apparently from nowhere.
  •         They had profound faith in themselves and were often deeply spiritual.
  •         They demonstrated abilities like clairvoyance, kinaesthetic and precognition.
  •         They confessed to drawing upon a higher source of energy and knowledge.
  •        They were well-organized and integrated personalities.
  •       They possessed remarkable self – esteem.
  •        They used auto suggestion and goal – directed visualization, even when they were not aware of the existence of these techniques, to change their habits.
  •        They were optimistic.

In order to reinforce, we also studied the research  findings and knowledge source in psychology, quantum physics cybernetics, biology, yoga and mysticism. We, also pored  over several books on self  - improvement,  that chronicled achievements, success or miraculous feats, some of the information extracted is discussed here. It is always good to consider body and mind together as this is an integrated holistic view. The mind has dominance in the body – mind system. By changing the thoughts, our body’s functioning  change, our health changes, our behaviour changes, our perceptions change and environment changes. The body affects the mind; it is well known that physical exercise drives away depression and laughter induces health. Body postures affects the mental mood, negative emotions cause illness. Emotions drive the body to action. The well known ‘Flight or Fight’ response to fear is an example. Faith and love empower the body, when we change, the environment also changes because all things, all life and all events in the universe are enfolded in a total wholeness and unity. A small group can influence a much larger group. A small group of trained and transformed individuals can gradually change a large organization  ( group dynamics principles).

Scientists have shown that mental events transform themselves into molecules (neuropeptides). Every thought you have, every idea you entertain, sends a chemical message to the core of cellular awareness.
The subconscious mind cannot distinguish between the real experience and a vividly imagined experience. The mind stuff experiments indicate how curative effects (placebo effects) are achieved by suggesting to the patients that particular drugs have been given to them.
The human brain, along with the nervous system, forms a goal – striving mechanism. This mechanism helps us in achieving our goals conveyed to our brain or inner computer.
Meditative techniques induce alternate states of consciousness which make the mind highly alert and sensitive. In the altered state of consciousness, the mind is more creative and the involuntary nervous system can be voluntarily controlled. The mind then is highly amendable to suggestion.

While the principles were derived through analysis and logic, the hall mark of left-brain functions, the reaching of the subconscious is predominantly through the right – brain approach. Thus the technique exploits the triangulation of right brain and left brain strengths and is a powerful tool for shaping the transformation.
Our potential for achievement of success and excellence is defined by:
  •      The intensity of desires for the accomplishment of the goal
  •        The degree of freedom from negative emotions and negative thinking.
  •         The depth of belief that the goal is attainable and that the technique (BMP) will work from.
  •         The degree of expectancy of the results during the practice of the BMP techniques.

·        Keeping all the above factors and points in the mind BMP was designed having the following notional steps :
  1.      A certain amount of mental preparation to remove emotional blocks and negative thinking and to inculcate emotional drive, through intensifying faith in the gaol and deep desire for the goal.
  2.      Design of a procedure for orienting and mentally aligning towards the practice.
  3.      Design of a procedure for reaching the deeper levels of consciousness (supraconscious)
  4.      A systematic  and effective programme of new experience to be supplied or conveyed to the supraconscious mind.
  5.      Hedging of the mind against weakening influences and reinforcing the outcome of the programme by controlled action and behaviour compatible with the programming.
  6.      Support of the practice of the technique during the entire period by our attitude of increasing prayer.

Based on the above information and knowledge gathered, we started working on developing a model for excellence and successful enlightened living. We named the model BMP(Body Mind Programming) . BMP model developed by us is the intersection of three aspects namely (i) principles of the Body Mind System derived from the knowledge base (ii) reaching the deeper levels of consciousness through relaxation and meditative techniques, and (iii) development of method of programming and its content relevant for goal accomplishment. The efficiency and control of the BMP process is achieved by using cybernetic principles and post – programming reinforcement through appropriate actions and mental attitudes.
BMP developed by us is a means of utilizing fully the Body Mind System(BMS) that we all possess for achieving whatever we want to achieve. BMP aims at stimulating the enormous potentiality of BMS for this purpose.
In a computer, there are input devices to put in a programme; there are also a set of programme instructions and a set of output devices for getting the results. In BMP, we have a set of practices for preparing input material, a set of instructions to the  brain’s central  processing or to the BMS, and a set of practices for getting the results. Like a computer programming, the language and syntax of instructions have to be carefully planned so that the desired results emerge. BMS is far more complex than the computer, and through BMP employs the concepts of programming, it goes far beyond it.
BMP is a modus operandi for success in our attempts to move from where we are to where we would strongly like to be, to what we avidly want to be and what we keenly desires to accomplish. It is a harbinger of success in changing ourselves efficiently and effectively to move towards of our goal.
BMP is about tuning the resources we possess – body and mind – to create a new way of living we accomplish our goals whatever they maybe BMP is a tool to empower  people to reach their true innate potential and to realize their goals, aspirations and dreams.
